I'm Federico — I produce music, explore ideas, and turn them into sound. I started working in nightclubs as a DJ at a very young age, at a time when music was still entirely rooted in the analogue world. Since then, I have experienced first-hand an extraordinary transformation: from vinyl records, mixers and early electronic equipment to the digital music production environment we know today.
I have lived through the evolution of the tools and systems that have shaped different generations of music producers — from the Atari 1040ST and the early sequencers and software, through Emagic and Logic, and many other technologies that have progressively changed the way music is composed, recorded and produced.
That evolution has always fascinated me. I have never seen technology as a replacement for creativity, but rather as another instrument through which new possibilities can be explored. Today, after many years in music, I still have that same curiosity — I'm fascinated by the new systems emerging in music production, including artificial intelligence, and I'm experimenting with them in my own productions.
My musical journey has crossed many genres — from the funk and disco of the 1970s and 1980s to soul, jazz, lounge, nu-disco and electronic music — but the common thread has always been the same: looking for atmosphere, groove and, above all, emotion. I'm not interested in using a technology simply because it is new. I'm interested in discovering what it can allow me to do that I couldn't do before. And perhaps that curiosity, more than any label, is what still guides the way I make music today.
